1. Professional Curation & Use of the Site

Serendib Store operates as an elite digital boutique and master curator of high-grade, premium Ceylon products. We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue products, collections, or website features at any time without prior notice.

2. Shipping, Delivery, & Risk of Loss

We cater to a global audience and offer two distinct fulfillment pathways to accommodate international transits:

  • Express Courier Service (DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc.): Highly recommended for our premium clientele. Orders shipped via express courier include tracking information and are fully eligible for our Damaged Goods Policy (see Section 4).
  • Standard Postal Service: If you select standard post, please note that Serendib Store operates strictly on a Free On Board (FOB) origin basis. We do not accept liability, responsibility, or financial obligations for transit delays, losses, or undelivered items sent via standard postal networks.

3. International Customs, Duties, and Taxes

Serendib Store ships authentic Ceylon treasures directly from Sri Lanka to consumers worldwide.

  • Import Liabilities: All customs duties, local taxes, import clearances, and brokerage fees are not included in our displayed shipping rates or product prices.
  • Customer Responsibility: The international buyer is strictly and solely liable for paying any and all customs fees, tariffs, or import penalties levied by their respective local border authorities (e.g., USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, and Europe) upon arrival. Serendib Store cannot issue refunds for packages rejected due to non-payment of local import taxes.

4. Damaged Goods & Replacement Policy

We take meticulous care in curating and packing our signature spices and teas. In the rare event that your product sustains damage during global transit, we offer a replacement under the following strict criteria:

  • Eligible Shipping Methods: This policy applies only to orders shipped via our Express Courier Service options (DHL, FedEx, UPS).
  • Timeframe: You must notify us via email at [email protected] within two (2) calendar days of delivery.
  • Proof Required: Your email must include photographic proof clearly showing the external delivery container, the damaged product packing, and the shipping label. Upon verification, a complimentary replacement will be dispatched.

5. Return & Refund Policy

Due to strict international food safety, health, and hygiene regulations governing food-grade ingestible products (tea, cinnamon, and spices), our return infrastructure is tightly controlled:

  • Opened Products: We maintain a strict policy where no returns or refunds are accepted for opened items under any circumstances.
  • Unopened Products: Returns are only accepted if the product remains completely unopened, unused, tamper-sealed, and in its original premium luxury packaging.
  • Return Logistics: Customers wishing to return unopened goods must contact us for authorization. The customer is entirely responsible for securing and paying for tracked return international shipping back to our hub in Sri Lanka.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, curated narratives, logo designs, custom imagery, and website layouts present on serendibstore.com are the exclusive intellectual property of Serendib Store. Any unauthorized replication, distribution, or commercial exploitation is strictly prohibited.

7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, alongside any transactions conducted through serendibstore.com, are governed exclusively by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any legal disputes arising from the use of this website or purchases made herein shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

We reserve the right to amend these terms at our discretion to reflect evolving shipping regulations or operational compliance. Continued use of our site following updates constitutes an acceptance of the revised terms.
